by Chris_Scruff THE BASICS Two artists have a draw-off contest. These challengers 'battle' with a character of their own design, shown in conflict with their opponent. The round or challenge will last 12 days. Votes are then open for 2 days and are cast by any members of the IFX forums. The winner of the round will progress to the next part of the tournament. INITIAL ENTRY To enter a character into Fightclub, go over to the main Fightclub Lobby thread on the ImagineFX forums community.imaginefx.com/forums… and post a full body pic of the character and a few words about their background, with some stats and special abilities if any. This all helps to give everyone ideas about how the fight should progress. Try and keep equipment and abilities fair, no 'My character can destroy the world with the power of their mind', please. Sometimes an ability or piece of equipment will be revealed in the progression of a fight, which is fine, but again it should be sensible and natural to your character. Just use common sense. Important note: Make sure you are subscribed to the Lobby thread as mentioned above and are getting emails from it. You will get a call-out the day before your fight, to confirm you are still available. If you DON'T answer this call, the round will be delayed or someone else may take your place. THE ROUND Each challenger must post at least two images in the fip (fight in progress) thread, and one image in the final thread. The fips can be a progression towards a final picture, or they can be sketches in their own right; but a minimum of three total images is expected. All artwork must be created specifically for the challenge within the specified time frame. During the fight, the contestants may fight however they feel artistically appropriate (ie still images, animations, sequential frames, etc) - but the final entry must be a static image. The final image must feature both characters in a state of conflict or in a state of victory. Please note: both characters must be clearly recognisable in the final image (disqualifications can occur). WINNING/LOSING When both contestants have posted their final images, voting begins. Voting will lasts for two days. 1 person 1 vote. Votes are made at the caster's discretion. They may vote based purely on the final image or they can vote on who entertained most during the round. The challenger with the most votes, wins. The winner of the round stays on, and fights in the next round. The winner must use the same character they just fought with. The next round will usually start the next day after voting closes on the current round. The loser(s) gets to choose who takes part in the next round, if there are more than one opponent to choose from, otherwise it's first-come first-served. If the votes are tied, then the participant who received the drawn number of votes first will win. If a challenger fails to post 2 wips and 1 final image within the timescale, they will automatically lose. If a challenger fails to comply with the rules or is considered to be operating outside of the spirit of this challenge then disqualifications can occur. TIMEOUT If either challenger needs some extra time during a fight, because of sickness or internet or computer problems for example, they can call a 'Timeout'. The deadline and voting times will then be extended by two days for both challengers. Only one 'Timeout' can be called per fight. Technical stuff over. Basic rules and timescales may change depending on current challenges or monthly tournaments. Keep an eye on the Blog section for updates on current fights and challenges. If you have any queries or questions, feel free to leave a comment below, or pop over to the Fightclub Lobby thread on ImagineFX community.imaginefx.com/forums… and we'll endeavour to answer them. |

C'mon on over and check it out peeps. Nothing but humor, blood and fun.
Rock on Fight Club fans!
I do, however need to tend to some other projects that were put on hold for the tournament.
Still cheering for blood though, not to worry!
